Operation Ring Zuid
From September 2024, cars will be able to drive along the new southern ring road! To make that possible, the new Julianaplein and the lowered section first need to be connected to the existing roads. This is due to take place between the end of March and the beginning of September and will cause serious disruption to traffic in and around Groningen for five months.
Travel tip #2 Use a P+R
Park for free and continue by bus
Use the free parking at one of the P+R locations on the edge of the city, then continue your journey by bus or bicycle to your destination. This allows you to bypass the traffic jams and prevents the need to search for a parking space, because there is always space at the P+R.
