From Saturday, May 10 through Saturday, July 12, extensive rail works will take place on the tracks and at Groningen station. During this period, in different phases, fewer or no trains will run to, from, and through Groningen station. NS and Arriva will operate replacement buses. The operation will also impact cyclists and car traffic.

What does this mean for me as a train passenger?

Where trains are not running, NS and Arriva will provide buses. Please allow for additional travel time of 15 to 45 minutes, depending on your origin and destination. Be sure to plan your journey carefully using your carrier’s travel planner (NS or Arriva). This is possible from 10 days before your travel date.

Impact on cyclists

Operatie Groningen Spoorzone will also impact cyclists. For example, the Onderdoor and Van Hallpad bike paths will be closed.

Impact on car traffic

During the rail works, the Stationsweg will be closed to car traffic.
