Travel tip #6 Work from home where possible

What seemed impossible in 2019 appeared to be the best option in 2020: working from home. Not for all jobs, of course, and perhaps not every day either, but it is definitely possible for some people. A very big advantage is this: you don’t have any travel time.

Research from Groningen Bereikbaar has revealed that employees in the city prefer to work from home an average of 2.2 days per week. That is around half of the week. And many employees are, in fact, given the opportunity to do this. That reduces both the number of cars on the roads and CO2 emissions considerably.

Working from home as part of your corporate culture

Groningen Bereikbaar is constantly in discussions with employers to ensure that working from home is increasingly accepted in corporate culture. The more normal it is to work from home, the more people will do it. Employers also need to offer the facilities that enable working from home. Get in contact with our mobility advisors.
